Judith Cohen Plays Bartók & Ginastera

By Judith Cohen

Ginastera was born in Argentina and his music combines various nationalistic melodic and rhythmic characteristics with 20th century compositional techniques. Bela Bartok’s piano music is often characterized as percussive, rhythmic and driving. Although these elements are  present, the lyrical and coloristic qualities of Bartok’s piano music remain essential.
